Smartcity latest master plan

The discussions for the Smartcity project was started in November 2004. Almost 9 years have passed, thanks to the political and social system in Kerala. Finally, we have some good news from the promoters and the government.

On 26 Sept 2013, the board of directors approved the revised master plan for Kochi Smartcity. According to the revised master plan, the first building of the project will be completed by Dec 2014, which is just 15 months away.

Two new directors will take charge as directors of Smartcity - Sanjeev Kholsa, Strategic vice-president of Dubai Holding and Todd Harry Bets, Chief Financial Officer of TECOM.

The entire project is divided into 3 phases. Total land area is 246 acres. In the first phase, an IT park will be set up in 40 acres, out of which only 10 acres will be used for building construction. 3.5 lakh sqft of office space and 1.5 lakh sq ft parking space will be constructed during the first phase. The piling work will start within a week from now.

The first phase is expected to offers 7,000 direct jobs and 14,000 indirect jobs at the completion of the first phase.
