Rasool Pookuty's 'Sound City'

Rasool Pookutty is planning to start a self contained institution which can serve ever needs in sound recording and training, at Kochi, Kerala, India.

Kochin Smart city will become a Sound City soon, thanks to the Oscar winner Rasool Pookutty. Rasool Pookutty Foundation has already located a six acre area in Kakkanadu, near Kochi city for this purpose. It is a dream project of Rasool to start a self contained institution which can provide full support for training in all areas of sound recording required for film industry. It is to contain recording studios, theatres, sound design lab, creative village, media school, sound mixing exhibition centre and any other latest facility needed for cinema sound recording.

If things go as per plans, Rasool plans to complete the project within two years. He expects a cost of Rs. 300 crores for the project. Once it is completed the sound city will be a unique one in India, with facilities which are not presently available in other parts of the country. He is expecting all support from the State Government in this project.
