If you are one of the many Keralites who closely watch the developments on the Kochi SmartCity project, you may be confused on various company names you hear related to it. First we all heard Kochi Smartcity will be promoted by "Dubai Internet City (DIC)". Later, we heard about "TECOM Investments" and not it is "SmartCity" company.
Dubai Internet City (DIC)
Dubai Internet City is one the few business parks owned and promoted by the Dubai based company "TECOM Investments". Kerala government was first approached by the Dubai Internet City group to setup a SmartCity in Kochi.
TECOM Investments
TECOM Investments is a subsidiary of "Dubai Holding". Even though Kochi SmartCity was originally proposed by "Dubai Internet City", at some later stages, the discussions were taken over by TECOM Investments, the parent company of DIC.

SmartCity is a joint-venture company formed by TECOM Investments and Sama Dubai, both members of Dubai Holding.
Smart City (Kochi) Infrastructure Pvt Ltd
This is the official name of the Kochi SmartCity. Smart City (Kochi) Infrastructure Pvt Ltd is a joint venture company formed by Dubai's SmartCity and the Government of Kerala and is registered in India.
