Clearance for Broadway project.

The renewal project for the Broadway and the Market in Ernakulam has been approved by the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) for funding. Accordingly an amount of Rs.22.1 crores will be granted assistance by the Central Government. As per the proposal the Broadway will be 'pedestrianized' during peak shopping hours. Market will be modified retaining the present architectural outlook. Kochi City will have a renewed shopping centre once the project is completed.
