Clearance for Broadway project.

The renewal project for the Broadway and the Market in Ernakulam has been approved by the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) for funding. Accordingly an amount of Rs.22.1 crores will be granted assistance by the Central Government. As per the proposal the Broadway will be 'pedestrianized' during peak shopping hours. Market will be modified retaining the present architectural outlook. Kochi City will have a renewed shopping centre once the project is completed.

It is sure that the beautification of Broadway will surel opens the door of Business for the Vendors moreover they were happy to know that no land aquisition is involved in this project . If the project as per the design submitted before the Cochin Corporation Council is implemented , it will be another milestone in the history of Cochin as well as we can see that the broadway will become an important Tourist destination place especially for the people who loves shopping...
