It may also be worthwhile to see what the same reporter wrote in the past. It gives an idea about the mis-information that was being spread in the name of smartcity. Now that the deal is signed, everyone wants to prove they are right.

I think this is an independent forum, no need to mix politics. We also have a platform to express our views for the development of Kochi. Regarding smart city project we have an anxiousness whether this will come true bcause we are comparing our administrators with our neighbouring states say for eg. Bangalore , we can see her progress in the feild of IT & other infrastructure. Every Year in Tamilnadu minimum 5 bridges are build & what is our status ? we have good examples of the ignorance of our Government ... Pullepady bridge, Edappally over bridge & Thevara bridge.. started construction in 2007 & still not completed. So whom is to blame ?ourself or the Government? according to your view blame should be on the common people for having casted his democracy to bring a stable Government at the State & Centre.

There are several issues to be discussed about Cochin, other than politics. Hence closing down a site just because somebody started a thread on politically related topic and different postings supporting or opposing the same came up, can never be thought of. Those not interested need not participate in these forums. Also it will be better that members avoid postings containing controversial issues, especially related to politics. It is certain that most of the members will have a affinity towards one or other political party. So why we make this a forum to wash our dirty linen in the public.

The CPM will never understand what Kerala lost in 4 years in connection with the Smartcity project. They have been busy demolishing Munnar and destroying lot of things in Kerala.
A few crores worth discounts Oommen Chandy offered to Tecom was nothing compared to the benefits Kerala would have got from the Smartcity project.
I remember most part of the land that was offered to Tecom was worth Rs 10,000 or less per cent before this project was proposed. The Smartcity project alone raised the land value to 3 lakhs or more per cent for the same land.
Even though we are late, we haven't missed the bus. Atleast now we should act and try to make the Smartcity a reality without keep blaming the economy and financial situation of the Tecom.
