If u find a mail which seems to be spam, just report to spam@mail server (for eg if it is from fftdf@yahoo.com then forward that mail to spam@yahoo.com

    Dear friends
I had received a few such mails (and also SMS into my mobile)indicating that my ID has won a fabulous prize. Some of them are showing Yahoo related IDs. I either report it as spam or delete it. Is there any means for preventing this ?

This kind of spam is very common. I know the big email providers like Microsoft, Yahoo and Gmail are working various options to prevent such massive spam. I doubt if we can do anything about it as individuals, other than ignoring such mails. If everyone is aware of such spam and no one responds, probably the spammers will stop investing money for sending spam !
