About Old Courtyard, a heritage hotel in Fort Kochi
Old Courtyard Hotel located in the princess street of fort Kochi, is a heritage hotel built at about 200 years. Now the house has been renovated into a hotel with its old charms like the ancient arches and the alcoves intact. The old courtyard hotel is located at about 45 kilometers from the Kochi International airport. The places to visit in the nearby area are Jewish Synagogue, Chinese fishing nets, St Francis Church, Santa cruz Basilica and the Bishop's house.
History of the Old court yard hotel, Fort Kochi
Old Courtyard Hotel, an old heritage house of the city of Kochi, was the residence of Lily Koder of the well known Koder family of Kochi. Lily Koder ws unmarried and lived there with her nephews. Her brother Samkoder's place was nearby. After she passed away in the early nineties the property was bought by Jacob and Rose Kuruvinakunnel . Jacob has created rooms in the colonial style of four poster beds, intricate and carved cupboards, tables, Lion face, five headed elephant and other rare and unusual pieces. Jacob has also showcased original art work and paintings in the Old Court yard restaurant.
