Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir (Giri Nagar) is a senior secondary school affiliated to the CBSE that is central Board of Secondary Education in Delhi. Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir at Giri nagar was established 1977 in about 1.7 acres of land donated by the Cochin Shipyard in Kadavanthara, in the Heart of Kochi City. Thos Bhavan’s Vidya mandir is a part of the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, a group of educational institutions, which runs schools through out india.
The Bhavan's Vidya Mandir school functions under the supervision of the Kochi Center of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. The other schools which are run by the Bhavan's Kochi center are BVM Elmakkara, BVM Eroor, Bhavan's Adarsha Vidyalaya and Bhavan's Newsprint Vidyalaya.
Magnum Opus is an annual festival held in the Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Girinagar, every year. They have inter-school competitions in many types in various subjects like music, dance, fashion, and other literary and art competitions are held. Many CBSE schools in and around Kochi participates in these competitions held at Bhavan's Vidya Mandir, every year. Imagination and originality prevails in the end.
Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir schools believe that elements in all cultures transcend all barriers and brings people together and the ideal of the school is Vasudaiva Kutumbam which means nothing but the age old saying “The World is one family” and the motto is "Let Noble thoughts come to us from every side"
Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir has exchange program along with the Tunbridge Wells Girls Grammar school, Kent in England, called PEACE which is Program for Educational and Cultural Exchange. In this program, 30 students and 5 teachers of one of the member schools for about 20 days in one year. In the reciprocal visit the hosts of this year will become the guests and travel to the other school. The guests get accommodated in the homes of the students of the school so that the guests learn about the tradition of the place they visit.

Standard VI to XII: 7.45 am – 2.50 pm
Lunch break: 11.35 am – 12.05 pm
