Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium is located in Kadavanthara, a area in the heart of the Kochi city. The total area of the complex is about 4 acres and is the only multi purpose indoor stadium of this type in the whole of India.

Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium is a multi purpose indoor stadium which has been built using Swedish technology. The Rajiv ganhi Indoor stadium has about 20,000 square feet playing area and the whole floor area has been polished with Bontech swedish anti skid sports wood polish. The floor can have at a time 12 shuttle badminton courts, 3 basketball courts or 3 volleyball courts etc. The stadium also has a seating capacity of 10,000 spectators. Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium is a flood lit stadium which has the international standards. The stadium was dedicated to Nation by Smt Sonia Gandhi on the 19th December 1993.

Amenities at the Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium
In the multi purpose hall of the Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium, there is 20000 sq ft of playing areaapplied with Bontech an anti skid wood polish from Sweden. The hall can have 12 badminton matches/ 3 basket ball courts/ 3 volleyball matches at the same time.
This Multi purpose hall is also used to hold car shows, exhibitions and weddings etc and has been constructed at a cost of Rs5crores and was dedicated to the nation by Smt Sonia Gandhi.
There is a library and a reading room, spacious and well equipped, in the hall. The library has a good collection of books, magazines and periodicals cocerned with sports.
AC conference halls are available and can accommodate about 100 persons comfortably. This conference hall can be utilized for birthday parties, engagements, musical programs and mini conferences and board meetings as well. There is another small airconditioned hall where the executive meetings of the centre are held can also be utilized for board meeting which can accommodate upto 30 persons.
Accommodations are also available at the stadium . There are 24 double rooms and 12 suites well furnished with marble flooring.The suite rooms are air conditioned and come with Cable TV connections.
There are 4 double rooms with attached bathrooms for the coaches of various disciplines of sports and games. These 4 rooms are situated at the west side of the stadium. There are two more spacious rooms on the west side to hold meetings by the sports bodies.
There is a Soft Touch health club and a beauty parlour, air conditioned comes with new state of the art imported fitness equipments, like nine station multi gym and plush interiors. The Gym and the Health center comes with 2000 sq ft area with steam bath / sauna, jacuzzi and massage. The beauty parlour available there is only for Ladies.
Children's park in the Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium is constructed near the swimming pool with a play pen. This facilitiy can be utilized by the members.
There is an airconditioned restaurant, Match Point, which has a capacity to accommodate about 72 persons at a time with a beautiful ambience. One can also see the greenery near the tennis courts through the windows of the restaurant.
There is a shopping complex also inside the stadium with didfferent varieties of shops in the front part of the stadium which have ice cream parlour, a medical shop, a sports goods shop etc.
