Chottanikkara, derived from Jyothiannakkara, is located at about 15 kilometers from Ernakulam town. This Bhagawathy temple is one among the famous temples of Kerala and the main Deity is Devi Bhagawathy.

In this temple, Devi Bhagawathy is worshiped in three different forms, one as Saraswathy, dressed up in pure white as the goddess of Learning, in the morning, the second as Lakshmi, dressed up in crimson red as the Goddess for wealth in the afternoon and the third as Durga, dressed up in Blue as the goddess of Shakthi in the evening.

There is an Idol of Mahavishnu on the same pedestal in the temple and so Devi Bhagawathy is called as Ammenarayana, Devinarayana, Lakshminarayana and Bhadrenarayana. You can also see Lakshmi & Narayana there are idols of Brahma, Siva, Ganapathi (Ganesh), Subramanya and Sastha on the same pedestal at the main temple.
